If so, try installing it on a test server - it doesn't have to be a MetaFrame server, although that would help.
Install the app via Add/Remove Programs, or drop to a cmd prompt and type change user /install, then install from the media.
Try it via a Terminal Services connection first - if that works, then you'll have no difficulties over MetaFrame. If it doesn't, then come back here with any error messages you may have.
If it is Action Request system, Remedy User, the application for Helpdesk we got it run on 2 of our Citrix servers (NT4 TSE) ok. Do like CitrixEngineer said above, I normally change user to Install mode as well as do it via Control Panel | Add Remove Programs.
We set it as an anonymous published application as each user has his own logon account, the command line pointing at "<<path>>\Remedy\Aruser.exe"
I seem to remember that you have to specify the database when you install it.
Let me know if you come across any problem.
If it's a two-part client/server type system, with a database portion and a client portion, then installing the database on a separate server and publishing the client on the MetaFrame server will provide much better performance. It'll take a bit of tweaking first, of course...
First thanks for everyone's help! I was able to install the Remedy onto the Citrix server under the anonymous account. I like to know if it possible to install the Remedy so everyone can use their own login name and password instead of the anonymous account. The Remedy that I installed has two parts, Remedy User Too and Remedy CRM Support. Our users need both of the parts to do their work. How can I install each part of software so our users can use their own account to login.
Hi Chris
Please ignore this if you already know this.
When you set up an application as an anonymous published application it means anybody can connect and running the application (as anonxxx on the citrix server).
Anybody can start up the programme but will get prompted for username and password to connect to the database. In effect users will have to have the account for Remedy User to be able to run it.
As for the Remedy CRM, I have not installed this but if you set it up as another anonymous published apllcation with it's .exe file, which will prompt for logon account to connect to the database, will this work?
