install problems

I'm not able to install new software from cds or downloads. I see a very, very brief flash that looks like a windows window. That is all.

The last time I saw that issue was when a pc had a virus that would prevet any installs.

Are there any Group Policy settings being applied, is this a standalone or a Domain situation, are you an Administrator?

Check out your Event Viewer for any errors, see if any relate to MSI Installer?
