I am creatng a fresh installation of Groupwise 7 on my NW6.5 SP5 server.
When I go to create the gw system I get the following error:
AN error occurred modifying an attributed value. Database not available
(0xDB39).

I am logged in as the admin of tree when doing this operation.

Any thoughts?

I am in the groupwise system creation stage. The very first part of the installation.

Try it again with these settings on the server:

Set client file caching enabled=off
set level 2 oplocks enabled=off

May be a caching/file lock problem that these will resolve. By the way, those are good settings to leave disabled -- they cause problems with other stuff as well.

what client are you using

xp sp 2seems to be better
2000 sp4 seems flaky

I re-installed using an XP sp2 box and it worked. Thank you for the help
