Hi, i wondered if i could pick someones brain for a sec

i'm trying to re-install windows xp on my home system, i've now tried 10 xp install disks and the furthest i can get on the install is the first blue screen (for windows setup)

the disks are all good and the system can install vista without a hitch, but the xp install just hangs

any suggestions?

Are there any external devices connected during the installation? Particularly USB or firewire printers, drives, etc.

Is this a clean installation or an 'over the top' installation?

Thanks for the quick reply,

i have my printer plugged in (usb)

and yes im doing a clean install

i'll unhook the printer quickly

I'm glad it was that easy; simple solutions are my favorites.
