Install Problem: Unable to Launch

I have installed IE5 on a NTW 4.0 with SP6. Before IE5 was IE4.0. After upgrading, IE refused to launch.

When I would double-click the IE icon, the splash screen would appear for about a half a second, then vanish. No error messages appeared.

I have tried to uninstall and re-install, but it did not resolve the problem. Plus, I have checked the Microsoft Knowledge Base, but that was not too helpful either. Can someone help?

Try loading the executable directely and see what error you get. internet Explorer is installed in c:\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe just double click on that file and it should launch Internet Explorer, if not try deleting that directory and doing another install
