Install Problem Internal Error 2349

Hi All,

For the last week i have been trying to install Visual studio .net 2003 on a XP pro machine running a 1.8 GHz processor and 80 Gig drive.

Prior to attempting the .net install i installed SQL-Server 2000.

Part way through the install the following error is displayed
"Internal Error: 2348"

I have searched the mircosoft site and i believe they symptons relate to a MDAC Service Pack 2 and the target file that is causing the problems is:
C:/WINDOWS/system32/Cabinet.dll version 5.1.2600.1106

This has been installed and the file is still the same!!

This file needs to be 5.0.2147.1 version or later; which i think it is. The link above does'nt describe how to get a new version of this file!!

Please can someone help me with this? This is taking ages and i'm fast running out of time!!
