install oracle IDS 10g and update a designer repository 6i

My environment is like this :

designer 6i release 4.5

forms 6i

reports 6i



I want to install Oracle IDS 10g(9.0.4).



My question :



- for my designer, can I install designer (with ids 10g instalation) and after I will import my reporsitory 6i and afetr upgrade it ?

I had Designer 6iR4 running in a Oracle 9.2 database. I started by using this version of Designer to export all my workareas to .dmp files. Next, I installed Oracle 10g (10.1.0.3.0) and accepted the prompt to create a new database. Next, I used the Designer Repository Admin utility to install the repository into that database (wow, that takes a long time!!!) Finally, I used Designer to import my workareas into the new repository. Everything is running fine.

To bad Designer still does not support some of the things Oracle introduced in 8i, let alone the new stuff from 9i and 10g!
