Install of Mandrake.... stops

i have it boot to the Mandrake CD
.... it gets to the in second stage
install part after loading the Ram Disk
and just sits there..... then i get an
error "Failed to get server: no
such file or directory....." then
it exits the install abnormaly and
shuta s down the file system .......
How do i get around this ? ......

It sounds like you might have a bad CD. Try making a boot disk and booting from it to the CD. The server that it can't start is mostly like the X server which is used to do the graphical install of Mandrake. You could also try hitting F1 when you see the very first screen and then choosing a text install.
