We recently updated our AV to epo agent 2.5.1.213 and virus scan v4.5.1 sp1. I know there are loads more scanning options in this release. After it was updated, people started to notice apps hanging on startup. IE 5.5 especially. It also slows mail down, depending on the settings for in bound outbound mail. Does this sound familiar to anyone, or anyone have any ideas?? Thanks

Install of epo agent and virus scan causing pc's to hang

If you have Windows 95/98 clients there is definitely a problem using VirusScan 4.5.1. but it does not affect all of them.
I have had to roll back to version 4.5.0. as I was unable to get VirusScan 4.5.1 stable on Windows 95/98 on the majority of PCs. I tried all updates (Spoolss etc..) configurations, different scanning properties all to no avail.

All our clients are NT4 or W2k.....It may not be related but it all seemed to coincide with the rollout. Problem was, most users ignored it and never mentioned it in the first phases of rolling out, so we were 3/4 way through when we noticed alot of people were complaining. Ends up we had to take IE out of startup and its ok.
