Hi, all,

I want to install nt4 into my Dell 1400 server but it can see the scsi harddisk when installation. Tried many times to down scsi driver from dell website but all failed.

Can any body point me a place to download the correct scsi driver? I don't have the dell CD.

Thank you.

Phillip

Go to the Dell web site, and use the Asset ID number to find all the correct drivers for your machine. The asset number should be on a white label at the back of the machine and consists of letters and numbers, in a large print size

I have downloaded the driver from Dell's website. I take it from here (non-raid scsi driver):
The downloaded file name is v111s4a5.exe.

I can use it to install only Stand-alone server - once I tried to install Primary Domain server - once i almost finish the installation and bootup - system crash - dump memory. I checked thru the web. Yes, Adaptech's driver has problem - some infomation can be found here:

The adaptec driver for NT (Ultra160 SCSI drive):

Go here:

to see "Installation Instruction" paragraph - it mention this error but i can work arround it.

Even i installed as stand-alone server, when i tried to add NetBeau protocol - crash again when boot up.

I installed Win2k server and Red Hat Advanced Server into the same box. Both working without any problem.

Any clue? Use Dell's CD "Server Assist" can solve this problem? (but this CD can't be download from Dell's web site!)

Thank you in advance.

Phillip
