Install NetBackup DataCenter 4.5

Hi
I will be installing NetBackup DataCenter 4.5 on a WINDOWS 2000 Server box, and would like information as to what patch or patches should I be applying to get to a stable backup system. Also will applying the suggested patch or patches bring me up current to what ever level is current with NBU 4.5 ? Is there any gotcha's I should be aware of ? Thank You in advance for any help or information you can supply me.

Are you just installing NBU 4.5 or do you have a new copy of 4.5 FP3? If you just purchased it, check the CD kit - It should say on the outside. If not FP3, and you have a maintenance agreement, Contact:
swupdate@veritas.com and provide company name, contact, phone, email, product, current version etc. They will send you the latest CD's.

Do you have any additional products such as Vaulting, Advanced Reporter etc?

You need to decide on the upgrade path that you want to take - If you have a maintenance agreement - Select the Feature Pack (FP) upgrade path and not the Maintenance Pack (MP) upgrades. Once you are at a FP leel, do not install any MP's.

Now - Assuming that you are at FP3, get the FP4 updates from the web site - This is my bowl of contention with Veritas, FP's were supposed to be cumulative but they ARE NOT. You need to install FP3 first, then upgrade it to FP4.
