I know this must have been covered before, did a search and did not see any clear answers.

I have a ACS R5 in a 5 slot carrier.

Processor in Slot 0 (Middle)
308EC in Slot 1
308EC in Slot 2
Slot 3 EMPTY
Slot 4 EMPTY

I am putting in a Partner Messaging R7 tonight. Does it just go into Slot 3 and I progam the ports as x34, x35, x36 and x37 for a 4-Port License?

For some reason I recall someone mentioning you have to put the Messaging Module in Slot 1 and Move all the station/line cards to the right. But this will seriously mess up the extension assignments that users have had for a long time.

Any thoughts?

You were correct the first time - put the Messaging in slot 3, after the processor. Assuming your ACS is R6 or lower, 34-37 are the VM ports. (R7 processor puts them at 35-38)

Got it, went with my first thought, Thanks TTT, everything worked out perfectly.

Im sorry this is the first time I've read this.If I have a R6 ACS in 5 slot carrier with (1) 308 module. Where does the R7 messaging module go and why. Thanks,
Mike

Between the ACS and the 308EC. That is the next available slot.

It goes ACS center ( thats the only place it will fit). Then left to right with voicemail in slot 2.

5 slot = 1 2 P 3 4

Your voicemail ports (#505 group 7)will be 26 thru 31 depending on the license.

My mistake I read the post wrong.I didn't read that there were (2)308 modules.
