Hi all,

I am currently running Linux Redhat 6.2 on my server and I have a lot of junk in there. I want to wipe out everything and install Linux 7.3.

Could someone please give me the full instructions of how to delete the old Linux and install Linux 7.3????

Please give me the full detail instuctions b/c this is going to be my first time and I am new with Linux

Thanks very much in advance

although i have never tried it, i guess this can be done.

- move all junk that u require in one of the folders say inside /home provided /home is one of the partitions or else use any unused partition.
- start the installation procedure, when it come to disk partioning, dont delete this available partition and dont create one new with the same name. rest disk partioning is upto u.
- once installation is complete and rebooted u can make an entry in fstab to mount that partition every time.

i guess if u have any other better solution.

If you want to wipe out everything and install RH73 without backing anything up, just boot from the RH73 CD and delete all existing partitions during the intallation. I recommend using Disk Druid to create the partitions during the installation.

I am sorry,

Could you please give me the full instructions of how to install Red Hat 7.3 or refer me to some link b/c this is my first time install Linux

Thanks

Its very easy. Just boot from the CD and it will walk you through everything.

If you want to look at the manual, check out RedHat's guide to installing RH72 here...

The installation of RH72 and 73 is basically the same. RedHat hasn't released a 7.3 guide yet.
