Hi all,

I am new with Linux and still trying to learn Linux in the hard way. Any way, I try to install Linux 7.3 with work station and everything work fine with the video card and all. On the same machine, everything else is the same except I pick server this time and I have problem with the video card. I read some where and it said that I have to have the XF86Config file which I do in /etc/X11 and when I open this file I have no clues of what I need to fix.

could someone throw out some light and let me know how to troubleshoot this problem ??? Is that true that I have to edit the XF86Config???

Thanks

The XFree86 and XFree86-4 hold the configuration for the monitor and resolution, mouse, keyboard, and video card. There is a tool in Mandrake to fix the file with a gui, so I assume the RH package has one as well. Try XFree86 at a # to get to the set up. That is the command in Mandrake.

Try running "Xconfigurator". Don't know if that's still the "preferred" GUI interface for configuring X in RedHat, but it's still in 7.3. --
