Hi, I would like to download Java for a Sun Solaris 10 box. However, from the Java official site, I hv to choose which Java installer I shld download based on the Operating System. I hv to choose from the following:

- Solaris SPARC (32 bit)
- Solaris SPARC (64 bit)
- Solaris X86 (Solaris 789)

How do I check which Java installer is suitable for the Sun Solaris box? Thanks...

try the command uname -m in console to find the version of your Solaris

You should find the version detail of your OS, then download and install a suitable JDK. You may also ask the Administrator of the Sun Solaris for the version detail.

The output of uname -m is sun4u.
What does sun4u means?

Which solaris does it fall under?

- Solaris SPARC (32 bit)
- Solaris SPARC (64 bit)
- Solaris X86 (Solaris 789)

Thanks?
