Hello... I am trying to install PageMaker 7 in a PC with windows XP. I have all the Windows Updates and have tried to install in other PCs getting the same error. I did a scandisk, defrag, liberated disk space, closed all programs, restarted in safe moded and nothing. When installation is about 2% I get this message:
"Component MoveData had the following error:
Media Name: Data
Component: Adobe PageMaker\Appfiles\PDF
File Group: PDF Import Bravo Dlls
File: PM7PDFL40i.DLL
Error Number: -106 (refer to the online help)"
I tried the online help but nothing there.

If you have an answer, please let me know. Thanks very much.

Hi, yaira,

The error "ComponentMoveData...Error Number: -106..." indicates that the installer cannot decompress a file. This can happen if the CD-ROM is dirty or damaged, if hard disk space is insufficient, or if the installer conflicts with an application or device driver.

You could try copying the contents of your CD-ROM (or the essential folders) to your HDD or a network drive. You will soon find out of there is dirt or damage on the CD, and if not, you can easily then install from your HDD or network drive.

Hope this helps.

Thank you...

The CD I was using had a biiiiiiiiiiiiiig scratch. I made a new copy from the original and it worked perfect.
