I have a problem report that is getting the 'database configuration incomplete or incorrect' message when scheduling or viewing from BOE 4 server.

I'd like to install Crystal on the server for troubleshooting purposes, but I recall that sometimes this creates problems if not done in a specific order or manner.

I'm not finding this info anywhere online - does anyone have some advice?

Thanks in advance.

If you have BOE 4.0, then you need to install Crystal 2011. If you have BOE 4.1, you'll need to install Crystal 2013. You'll also need to make sure that you have the same service pack/patch level for Crystal as you have for your BOE system.

You shouldn't have any trouble with your system (I assume you're doing this in a Dev system, NOT in Production, just in case!) after the install. I have both installed on my laptop (I'm a consultant and SDK developer) without any problems.

We always install Crystal on our BO server. It is a very useful tool in diagnosing various issues that may crop up when running reports on BOE.

Of course as Hiffy says, you have to make sure your version of Crystal matches the server SP and FP level.
