Hi, all. I am kinda wondering if it is ok to install BE 9.1 on Windows XP? I already installed but it just did not work.
First I got this error b/c of communication error between the BE Exec engine and the remote agents. I firgured that i should add BE executables to my list of allowed software on XP SP2 firewall, and then this error went away.
But now I got a "unknown errors" error status just right after I started to run the backup job. I searched for the entire internet and could not find anything that talks about this, except one at Veritas but there is not any answer to that question so that did not help at all.
My set up is backing up some PCs in workgroup with BE accessing accounts to these PCs as admin to these PCs, some PCs in domain with domain admin account to them. I certainly was able to browse and select the files and directory for backing up/creating the list.
You might wonder why I have this setup? Oh, I am in the process of taking down my domain server and replacing it with a new server, previously my domain server also acted as the backup server. So I am migrating this backing job temporarily until I have the backup and domain servers in place.
Please share your thoughts on what I should do to solve this problem and any suggestion on my set up. I am at home right now so I could not post the error codes but the last 3/4 hex numbers are 4f4 or 4f84.
Thank you in advance.
