A 3rd party vendor has told me that I need to install the application as a service. Is this possible on server 2008 and if so can you point me to a guide?

"Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary, and you can probably get a career in it.
Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things."

Well done very droll I'd give you a star if I wasn't on the floor in fits of laughter

I've already tried googling already and that's why I'm asking the question in here.

Do you actually know the answer?

If it was me I would expect the 3rd party vendor to provide me with the details of how to do this or code their app to run as a service in the first place!!

This is the MS KB on how to create a service -
Or check out Firedaemon

I've used srvany in the past but I don't know if it will work on W2K8..

Cheers the sc.exe looks like it may work. From what I can find there is no resource kit for 2008 and srvany doesn't work on 2008.
