Hello:

I need to add a link to my web page to install a .msi, but as transparent as possible for the user. I meant minimizing user interaction with the installer.

I want something like microsoft does with some service packs or like the Macromedia Flash plug-in which installs itself without user interaction and without copy anything to the user's hard disk (at least permanently)

Can anybody help me ?

You might want to investigate some of the installer packages available (InstallShield, Wise, etc). Most of the better ones can do web-based installs.

Thanks chiph, but this is a very specific task from my job and I need to use a .msi :-(

Any clue ?

The newest versions of these products produce .msi files.

A .msi file is nothing more than a file that the Microsoft Installer Service is able to read.

Yes chiph, I know it. But what I need is to install a .msi package silently, that is with no user interaction at all, or with few user interaction. Something like macromedia flash does with its plugin.

Thanks.
