I'm trying to install 4.3.3 on a 44p that I just recieved that has 5.1 on it. When I try to boot off the cd the system hangs with a 0c31 on the LCD display. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this??
Thanks

the system is waiting for your interaction:

c31
Select the console display for the diagnostics. To select No console display, set the key mode switch to Normal then to Service. The diagnostic programs then load and run the diagnostics automatically. If you continue to get the message, check the cables and make sure you are using the serial port.

No help, The system boots fine with the 5.1 cd just the 4.3.3 cd makes it hang. I am using a graphics adapter and sitting at that console. I have no idea what is causing this. PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks

Most likely 4.3.3 doesn't have drivers for your graphics adapter.
Scrap the graphics console and plug an ibm3151 into it.

Cheers

If a console has not been configured, the system pauses with this value in the three-digit display and then displays instructions for choosing a console on the native display. System initialization and configuration continue after you choose a console.
When the LED is at the 0c31 prompt, it is asking you a question (on both
serial and GUI console):

"Please press 0 to select this console"

or in some cases:

"Please press 1 to select this console"

hope this helps,

Lou

What have you connected to your serial port?
I'll guarantee you that it's waiting for input on of your serial ports.

Cheers

I have a graphics card in it with a display hooked up to it.

You didn't really read my first post did you?
4.3.3 doesn't support that graphics adapter. Get an ascii terminal, plug it into the first serial port and off you go!

Cheers

using an ibm3153 as your console will really reduce your headaches.
