I've installed this printer with scoadmin (add TCP/IP printer). I've select HP LaserJet 4 Plus/4M Plus (PCL) model becouse my printer is setup in HP laserjet 4 plus mode. I've add this printer in /etc/hosts file. When i print with lp, printer does not print. If I check with lpstat -o, i can see that request for printing is waiting. What i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Hello: you don't need to create it for the scoadmin, neither for sysadmsh. What you have to make is to mount the service of remote impression (mkdev rlp) and to place as server the same printer name.

Greetings and my bad English excuses. I am from Colombia

ok.
1. you have to enter with root and to write mkdev rlp.
2. responds "i" (to install).
3. to the question of change /etc/printcap responds "y".
4. printer name? write the name that you want to give to the printer (ej: kyocera)
5. local or remote? answers "r"
6. remote hosts? answers with the same name of the printer (ej: kyocera. when concluding you should enter to /etc/hosts and to place the address IP and the hosts name that you have just placed ej: 193.0.0.10 kyocera).
7. default printer? answers "n" or "y" if "y" if wants it direct impression with lp -d"file"
8. to configure another printer? answers "q"
9. to activate the impression demon now? answers "y"
10. the system returns to root

Enters for the panel of the printer and the TCP/IP configures. (ej: IP: 193.0.0.10 subred: 255.255.255.0)
Make sure of to enter to /etc/hosts and to place the address ip and the name of the printer separated by a space (ej: 193.0.0.10 kyocera). Also enters to /etc/hosts.equiv and it places the name of the hosts (ej: kyocera) whenever that it is the name that you have given in the point number 6).

I wait it is of help.
I don't know eslovenia, it this very far from my country.

Thank you very much. Now working.

Slovenia is in Europe, near Austria, Italia and Croatia.

Best regards
