Can it be done? It have SQL 7 running on an NT4 Workstation box but we need to upgrade it to 2000. (For both). I have tried installing onto my PC already and it politely informs me that only client tools are supported on this platform. Any Ideas?

Documentation I have read mostly shows that Server is required for SQL2k Std (We have to use this version) but one of our consultants and the odd person I have come across on forums swear they have it working without any problems on Win2k and WinXP.

Thanks all

Thanks for that quick reply. I have that link but what concerns me is reports from people that say Std does work - I would like to hear from anyone that has made it work or that has given up in disgust. Thanks Again.

Bottom Line ... SQL Server Standard WILL ONLY RUN on a server class machine. Period!

Thanks

I bet you will find they have installed the Developers Edition which is "almost" the same as Enterprise Edition but scaled back on being able to be used in a production environment. Take a look at this link as to the different flavors of SQL Server. Pay close attention to th OS that each is able to run on.

I know this get a bit difficult w/ all of the varying flavors and OS options. Hope this helps!

Thanks
