I'm working with an XTSc system and I can't seem to get the voicemail working. I'm basically starting from a clean init, and I have the VM1B card select for slot 7.

If I try to dial 440 to access the VM system, it will just continue beeping. If I add stations 100 and 101 to Group 1 (440), the line will ring when I dial 440 but nothing picks up.

Is there a step by step guide for installing the InSkin voicemail in the system, noting what settings need to be adjusted?

Thanks

After you program what cards are in what slots you have to power down the system and reboot. Make sure your dip switches are in the right place before powering down otherwise you'll default the system.

ravnz5,

I did a soft reset using Flash 80, then a power down and power up with all switches in On position except for switch 8. The XTSc comes with the VM1B in slot 7 by default, so I don't think it was even necessary to restart it.
I am able to configure the InSkin over the DB-9, but I don't see where I can "turn on" the VM. What are the normal steps after restarting? Should it just work now? Don't I need to add stations to the groups (Flash 65, i think)?

Thanks.

I have installed many of these and I have never had to put extensions into the voicemail group, they come up automatically as extensions 150-157. Try dialing one of those ports directly and the default auto-attendant should answer. Also, you have to set the operating mode. Don't you have the Manual or disk? Do not, repeat, do not add erxtensions 100 or 101 or any other extensions to group 1.

He said it is an XTSc in this ksu you have to put the vm ports in flash 65 since the inskin can go in any slot the ports will change based on the other cards in the ksu. The vm ports will be the next 8 ports in line.
