I have attempted to install CIM version 5.5 on several W2K machines (Compaq and Dell) so that I can monitor Compaq ProLiant servers. Currently it runs great on an old 95 box. It launches one time and displays our four NetWare servers as I have IPX discovery turned on. I close CIM, re-launch it and it doesn't display the Device List panel (only the Alarm Log panel). I reboot. Same problem. Task List shows "not responding."

I'm running 2000 with Service Pack 3 which I understand includes an SNMP fix.

HP support seems to be stumped and suggested I migrate to CIM 7 sp2.

Any ideas? I really like the 5.5 GUI and 7 is more than we need right now.

Are you talking about CIM manager on an admin workstation or CIM agents on a server?

I use CIM manager on Win2K, and used it for years on NT 4.0.

The only thing that messed me up once was when I installed Crystal Report Writer on my workstation. Crystal Report clobbered the Borland database files. This ended up to be a rebuild for me.
