Hi,
Could anyone guide me how or where to insert the link below which works ok in HTML for streaming video.

<embed src="Video/Rolean.wmv">

I now need to do the same in a blank swf. which over the coming weeks I can embelish the background.
I don't really want to import it as a .wmv as it is a very large file and takes for ever to import and convert as I have tried..
Cheers

John

Thanks Oldnewbie.

Sorry I did not fully explain my problem,,,very old age..hi
I am running my home computer as a server so that I can test streaming video for a project, rather than ftp it up to my site.

Now if I embed the movie in HTML no problems..just plays nicely on a black background.

I love Flash's vector graphic capability with low demands and would like to put some complexed graphic in the backround and future ideas while the video is running.

Now trying the same "get url" gives permission denyied" , now I do not want to open up permission's for security reasons. So how can I achive the same call or similar server side...

hope that is a better discription of my problem.

Many thanks in anticipation

John

Just an update,

tried just "geturl Video/Rolean.wmv", but brings up the external Windows media player, not displayed in the .swf
