Inserting tables in Dreamweaver MX

Neither the Insert Table dialogue box from the main toolbar nor from layout toolbar opens when inserting table. The only way a table can be created is by drawing in layout mode, and then only one table can be inserted into page. I am running Windows Vista. Does anyone know if this is an incompatibility issue. The version I am using is MX 6.1 and there was no problem running this from Windows XP. Is there any way around this other than upgrading?

Yes, even with a blank page. The updated doesn't seem to apply to my problem. Do you think it is an incompatability issue with Vista as I am sure it was fine running on XP.

I can only confirm that works on XP but did read that some people had issues running on Visa...even cs3. Most people are running into issues with x64 - as expected.
Hate to say it but...it is a crappy OS and it gets reformated with XP pro the moment it arrives into my network.

I need to update my previous response as despite the advice re deleting table.htm to overcome my problem with inserting tables, this did fix the problem temporarily but unfortunatley now every time I try to insert a table the file is recreated in the folder and an error occurs and dreamweaver shuts down. Has anyone out there any other suggestions. Cheers
