I am just starting out using SQL Server Report Services 2005, using the Development Studio to design reports. I am comfortable with Crystal reports, so struggling a bit to get to grips with report services.

I would like to be able to have several fields on the report, each containing the results of an SQL Query which returns a value. I right-click a field and choose 'Expression' but this will not seem to accept SQL code.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Data is returned to the report through defined DataSets

you access these from the DATA tab in Vis Studio. Use the drop down box and select "New DataSet". Add the query in there and then reference that data set in the appropriate textbox etc

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
