inserting OLE using LISP or VBA

I have an excel template, (ie. MyExcel.xls). I have a prompt for the user to pick a point. When they pick this point, I want to insert my excel template at that point using either LISP or VBA. I can't seem to find a way to do this. Through interactive use of AutoCAD, it uses the _insertobj command, which is the Insert --> OLE object... menu pick, which I can't seem to get to work in LISP. If anyone knows how to do this, I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks in advance,
