I am using a fairly lengthy master legal document someone sent to me. How do I insert additional pages (documents) so that they maintain their original formatting rather than that of the main document e.g. I am inserting forms as appendix to a contract and they end up all over the place. Have tried inserting file, inserting as object (best result but only get 1st page) creating doc as autotext and good old copy and paste.

Any suggestions.

After you place your cursor at the very end of the existing document, insert a section break by selecting Insert, then Section Break/Next Page. Now try inserting the new material here and it should be OK. You may need to deselect the "Same as Previous" button in Headers compete with each other.

Hope this helps.
