Inserting into text field using C++

Hi everyone,
I have been trying to insert a value into a TEXT field in a table using the INFORMIX C++ APIs provided. I tried using the ITStatement (prepared) and it does not work. Has anyone a working sample code which can do this in C++?
Help!
