Inserting Information into and reading from Bookmarks

Hello,

I am trying to get a dialog box to populate by reading text from bookmarks when a document opens. Then, if that text is manually edited through the dialog box, write the text back to the bookmarks. I considered using a mail-merge arrangement but the resulting interface was too clumsy for the user to negotiate.

I’ve seen several other posts on this forum that dance around similar problems but not address them and I’m beginning to think I’m trying to do something that’s just not possible.

Can you read/update/write bookmarks in a document or is there a better way?
