inserting checkboxes into datagrids

i'm new to visual basic and 've been having no luck with this matter.

've got a datagrid (that is being populated correctly) and have added an additional column. in this additional column i would like to insert a checkbox, such that i can work with only the data selected (i.e. rows with the checkbox checked).

if anyone knows how to do this, your help would be tremendously appreciated (or if this can't be done, that would be good to know ;) )
