Hello. I am using Crystal 8. I currently have two reports that I am trying to merge into one. Report one generates a monthly total of services by location. Report two generates a monthly total of a particular service. How can I insert the total from report two into report one that will subtract the running total of one location from the total in report two. I hope this is not too confusing. Thank you.

Is there a reason you are not doing this all within one report? Is the second report also by location?

Insert Report 2 as a subreport linking on service code.

Create a formula in the subreport report in the group or Report footer (where ever the totals are displayed) and capture the totals with a shared variable and reference the shared variable in the following section of the main report.

Without knowing your environment or technical information, it's hard to offer the right solution

I am a newbie to Crystal. The reports were already created and I was assigned the task of automating this process. The fields are in two different tables. Normally they would be run and printed and then the totals manually input into Excel generating graphs and charts of the data.

This is how the reports are currently set up in Crystal.

Report 1
Total of all incidents for the month that are "Other".

Report 2.

Category Loc1 Loc2 Loc3 Loc4 Loc5 Loc6 Loc7 Loc8 Loc9 Total
BI 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 44
General "
Missed "
Scheduled "
Info "
etc.
Grand totals

Loc5 information field is the one I want to subtract from the report 1 "Other" total to get a total count of "Other".

Thanks.

What are the fields you are working with in each report? Please identify them by their table and field name, as in:{table.field}. It might make most sense to join the two tables rather than use subreports, assuming there are common fields. In report 2, is this an inserted crosstab where the column field is {table.location} and the row field is {table.category}? What is the summary? A count? A sum? Of what?
