How can I insert a subreport into a Data Dictionary without breaking the Dictionary links?

History: I am using Crystal 8.0+ and MS SQL 7.0. My compnay is trying to create a uniform Dictionary to handle ALL of our customers who are using 1 of the 4 current versions of our software. We may need to have some tricky formulas created in the Dictionary to handle some of the requirements for each customer and are trying to avoid having our Dictionary become unwieldy. Subreports may be our best solution to this problem as it will be easier to send updates of the single Dictionary and the relevant subreports to each customer vs. updating multiple Dictionaries for multiple customers.

mrspecial: Subreports and Dictionary files don't mix I'm afraid. The concept of a Dictionary file is to reflect the single series of table joins and field selections/formulas you've created whereas a subreport enales you to have an additional set of table joins to those created in the main report.

However, one thing you might care to try out is to have a report which is merely there to hold your formulas. I have such a report with hundreds of formulas held within the one report - they've been imported from other reports as I've built them and once deciding to keep for future reference it is an easy task to cut and paste them into my repository report.

Once here I can then open this report when working on a new one, include multiply selected formula fields for inclusion within a text object and by cutting and pasting this get my selection to 'pop up' in the new report.
