How do i insert a page break in NS 4.x? It seems that page-break-before only works in IE. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,

From memory, page-break-before and page-break-after are CSS2 properties - hence only CSS2-compliant browsers support them. I don't think NS4.x supports CSS2 (and only partially CSS1) - unfortunately I can't think of a clean solution to your problem (unclean: use tables with absolute heights etc, but then you have to work out what sort of paper the viewer is using: A3, A4, Foolscap and its orientation: portrait or landscape)

You could try putting a page break character (ascii 002) in the page. It shouldn't affect the browser display, but ought to cause the printer to do a page break. Tracy Dryden

Sorry, that should have said ascii 012.

I just answered in another thread, but here it goes again: :) So, you can use two CSS definitions:
page-break-before
page-break-after

that allows to specify how the page is broken into pages when printed. Look up the syntax of the commands on W3.org CSS specifications or MSDN. ---

Although this is correct, you should mention that this is not supported in IE4 only IE5 and after. That's why the problem started.
