I am trying to insert a microsoft access report into a word document. I brought up the database toolbar and clicked on the insert icon, got the database, but I only see two options for insertion.. table and queries. I can insert a table or query but how I insert a report that was done in access.

Vaughn: You open the report and save it to Word, which creates an RTF file. You can then use Insert-File from Word and choose the RTF. I've never heard of being able to insert a report. A report isn't really a report until it's generated by double-clicking it, which explained absolutely nothing because then why do queries work? Doh! dreamboat@nni.com

A report is an instant of an object, while a query is an object itself, hence the problem of saving a report directly as an object and Dreamboat's puzzlement over the difference in invoking!

Sorry I posted the reply: A report is an instant of an object, while a query is an object itself, hence the problem of saving a report directly as an object and Dreamboat's puzzlement over the difference in invoking!

What I was trying to say is that a report is merely a fancy front bit to a table or a query, while a query is another table. Therefore it is not an instant of an object but an object in tits own right and that's why you can merge it with Word.
