This is really an extension of a previously closed post. I've setup the details section to mimic the look of a table with lines, but one of the fields is marked for "can grow". When it does grow, the vertical lines do not grow with it and the formatting isn't correct. Any ideas on maybe creating a formula for the lines or how this can be corrected??

Thanks!!

Make sure vertical lines extend underneath the section separator. If you have groups makes ure its like wise underneath the Group section separator.

Also for Can grow fields make sure the Horixontal lines are at the top of the row, then filed can grow without overlapping line.

Thanks for the reply. The vertical lines all extend to the bottom of the section, now it's a matter of the "Can Grow" field overlapping the box.

If I create a formula field that combines my required fields, how could I put vertical lines in the formula field to seperate the fields?

Any other ideas?

When you say you have added lines to replicate a table, does this mean you have used borders on Cells?

If you are I Strongly recommend that do do not. Build your table using Drawn Lines and boxes these all grow as required.

Using borders causes a lot of problems, one being fields that grow - causing line misalignment, the other being Null fields - causing borders to disappear.

Sorry can not view file, blocked by websense.

Provided vertical lines and boxes extend below section they will grow.

Horizontal lines must be placed at top of section so that they do not get overlapped by growing fields. Growing fields must be above a section divider so that when they grow any horizontal lines below get pushed down too.

Okay, I'll continue to work on it, thanks for the assistance!!

You have the option of formatting lines to "extend to bottom of section when printing". Right click on the line ->format line option.
