Insert Pictures Associated to Stock Codes 1

Within a third pary Erp package, we have stock codes that have an images attached as a .bmp Using Crystal X1 need to produce a report for specific stock codes and would like the associated pictures to print alongside the stock code. Can anyone advise if this is possible?

Where are the pictures stored? In the database or externally as a .gif or .bmp? Or what?

Apologies the pictures are stored externally.

How? In another database? As .gifs not in a database but in a certain file location? Tek-tips does not charge by the word, please explain what you want to do.

They will be stored in a file location as either .bmp, .gif or jpegs.

Insert a static .jpg picture as you normally would. Then go into the conditional formatting (Format Graphic) dialog and choose the Picture Tab. There, you will see a conditional formatting button labeled X-2 next to the graphic location.

Here you need to write a formula so crystal can "find" your picture. For example:

"c:\my pictures\items\"&{Item_no}&".jpg"

If the pictures are not consistently the same file type or in the same general location, this could be a problem as you might imagine.
