I am inserting photos into a database by linking to the .BMP image in another directory. The database increases substantially in size.

The idea is to link high resolution photos so that a catalogue can be printed. Each photo is 5"x4" 200 dpi.

I have visited that claims it can do this.

Is this the way to go or is there a more efficient and safer method for database integrity as well as minimizing the size.

Appreciate all responses.

Thank You

We use DBPix and it is a fantastic control. We have thousands of photos stored in MDBs

If you feel you need to have your photos in an MDB(s), then that control is a great way to go. Otherwise, using the filesystem works great too.

There are numerous posts on this subject, btw. You may want to also see a few of those as well.
