insert into autonumber

Hi

Is ther anyway I can do a insert statement like oracle tyle and update a field that is type =autonumber

ex

insert into values(id.nextval)

where id is an autonumber type

you can normally append Long type data into an autonumber field as long as it does not create duplicates. You cant change one thuogh..
