Hi.
I used to be a programmer, but it was a long time ago.

My problem is: I received a long text (more than 3000 character) but it comes in lines, many records with 69 characters. I want to put it in a memo field, and I don’t know how.

I don’t know visual basic and I was trying to use queries, but it isn’t work. I am using Access 2000 and the message is that “Type incorrect”. How can I do it?

(Sorry about English. I am Brazilian and I don’t write in English very often)

Thanks for your help.

have you tried using a long integer?

dim myvariable as long Cruz'n and Booz'n always.
This post shows what little I do at work.

doh,

sorry about that... have you tried using a string?

that's

dim myvariable as string. it holds 63,000 characters :)

sorry about the first post Cruz'n and Booz'n always.
This post shows what little I do at work.

Sorry, I was really busy this last weeks, I am finishing some soem papers for my master. Sorry.

Back to the problem.

Table Source: Cod: cod number
Line: integer
texto: character 69.

Table New: Cod: cod number
text: memo.

I am trying to put Source into New. I don't know visual basic, or visual access. What I am triyng to use is SELECT.
Is it possible ?

Forget everything. I am really stupid.

Everything is Ok here. I made a mistake with some codes I set one as number and other as character. only this. My problem wasn't with emo field.

Sorry.
