Hello everybody.

Did anyone heard about or can suggest mabe a postfix serverside solution in order to insert a counter number into the subject line before the message is sent?
I mean something similar with helpdesk tickets, because I would like to create the possibility for the senders, to make further refference about a speciffic message using it's counter number provided by postfix server.

Thanks in advance.

Someone may know of a product to do this task, but I don't. I am certain, however, that it would be do-able. For example, amavis and spamassassin, modify the headers to include SPAM flags that can be used to filter messages.

Assuming you have a tool that can modify the messages in the desired way, to implement this in postfix you need to modify master.cf. You need to have your utility receive the message from postfix by setting postfix to deliver on a chosen port and then re-insert the message on another port that you configure postfix to listen to. Basically, you would chain your tool into the link. I mention spamassassin because this is how it works and the how to for it shows how to modify master.cf.

Thanks Noway2. You're perfectly right, I also think is do-able fro exactly the same reasons yu've kindly mentioned.
I still wait for a hint from someone who actually was confronted with this challenge.
