Hello...
I have a text file that is imported into access. I have to manipulate and change several things within it. It only has one column and 6000 lines. One line has the report name and the department number. What I would like to do is separate the department and insert it into the next line. This text file is 12,000 lines sometimes and a need to automate this insertion is needed. How would I do this ??? HELP...

Any ideas ???
Thanks...

without specifics, here is my suggestion...
Import the text file into a temporary database table. Once the table is populated, you can write a little Loop that can read through each record. Based on some identifier, Department Name, you can then parse the temp data set as you desire and insert into whatever table u desire... Steve Medvid
