Inquistor / Oracle Server

I am creating an Inquisitor Server. Inquisitor is a survay application that sends all the survays to a database. We are trying to use SQL 7.0 right now and so far have no results. Does anyone suggest using oracle or another database that would better?

Up for suggestions at this point.
