Whilst importing to an excel pivot table from an Access97 database I keep getting message &quot;String data, right truncated on column number1 (TABLE_CAT)&quot;<br><br>A copy of same database (one month old) works fine.<br>There is a table called &quot;Category&quot;, but comparisons between old copy and current version appear identincal in all ways.

Have you found a solution for this 'String Data, right truncated on column number 1 (TABLE_CAT)' error? I am experiencing the same error when trying to use MS Query in Excel to get external data from Access.

Me too... surely someone knows how to fix this... please help if you can. thanks
