input type to find folders

hi guys,

im just fussing around, but is there an input type undocumented somewhere that will look for folders instead of files much like the

<input type=file>

tag? if there isnt one, im just pondering why!

Not exactly sure why you'd want to find a folder(??) but there are no undocumented input types that I know of.

well, its because im making a web based log analyzer. In the interface i want to specify which folder the log files to be analyzed are. This is, of course, done on the server, not on a remote computer accessing the page. Such an input type file would make a better alternative than memorizing the the path. Though, copy and paste is also a good alternative. Just trying to impress my boss here. hehehe.

He is one of the people who will use the interface. If there is one that will point out files, i dont see why there isnt an input interface that will point out folders, do you?

You could use a file box, get the user to select any file in that folder, and just strip everything after the last occurence of "\"... That way, you have effectively selected a folder name.
