I am using Crystal Reports 8.0 against Sybase 11.0.3 database. I'm trying to modify a general ledger activity report which ran fine previously. It had 2 input parameters--fiscal year and period.

I'm trying to add a 3rd parameter so that only those accounts in the approver's department can be viewed by the approver. In order to do that I added two tables--budget_lists, and budget_list_accounts--and set up the appropriate links. When I put in the selection criteria budget_lists.approver=?approver, Crystal bombs out with this database error message:

ODBC error[intersolv]ODBC SQL Server driver(sql server)ct_get_data:user api layer:external error:item 13 has already been read

I tried copying and pasting the sql into infomaker. It did run there, but it ignored the approver restriction and printed all the accounts.

Can anyone help with a way around this problem? I've put this process into several other reports without a problem.

Thanks very much.

Sue

Consider posting the type of connectivity used.

Anyway, try changing to a different ODBC driver or native connectivity and see if that resolves.

I'm using sysyb95.dll. I don't really know much about odbc connectivity. Could odbc problems cause an error in this report even though other reports using the same tables(but sorting differently) are ok?

Is there a driver that you would recommend I try?

Thanks,

Sue
