A few months ago I had an IP office system installed that has been problematic at best. I spoke with my vendor yesterday about switching to a Magix system. Before I make the final decision I was wondering if I could get some feed back on if the Magix will fix my problems.

1. Voice announce
We currently have no voice announce without a crazy six to seven button key combination. The way or previous system worked was the following:
Call comes in->Operator answers->Operator voice announces to ext.-> Ext then can say yes or no-> if they say yes operator passes call through and the phone rings at the ext. (ringing being the key here). -> If the ext says no the operator pick the call backup.

Will the Magix do this?

2. Call Waiting
If you are on the phone and another call comes in it goes to your voicemail.

3. Hands free
If you have the internal auto intercom button on or “Hands Free” when you receive a direct inward dial call the phone rings.

We have more problems related to IP office but these are the ones that would make my life easier by switching. IP office shows no signs of correcting the problems as I am on the last build (3.0) that just recently came out.

Any input is greatly appreciated…

So far - what you describe as your needs can be programmed on a Legend or Magix system. I have heard that IP Office was full of problems - I guess it's true!..Tom

A Magix would solve most of these issues.

Voice announce...

WITH THE MAGIX:

It can be set to ON/OFF or IDLE, Idle means if I am on the phone, I will receive a RINGING Call when a VOICE call is placed.

AND - If I do get a VOICE CALL, with the HFAI button ON, I can say YES -or- NO, and the Operator can take it BACK.

CALL WAITING -

WITH THE MAGIX:

There are ways to fix it so if you are on a call, the next one DOES NOT RING YOUR PHONE, but goes to Voice Mail.

Hands Free:

Well, not exactly...

WITH THE MAGIX:

With the HFAI button ON, an INTERNAL, INTERCOM VOICE CALL will be delivered to your extension, and will ACTIVATE your SPEAKER PHONE, BUT... AN OUTSIDE CALL WILL NOT!

HFAI, means Hands Free Answer INTERCOM, with INTERCOM being an internal call.

Does the description of these features make it sound like a MAGIX will meet your needs?

The Voice Announce on IDLE is only available for MLX telephones. Just thought I'd point it out, as we had a lawyer's office that was used to the Off Hook Voice Announce on MLX phones. Went to IP Office. Lost that feature, couldn't cope, and ripped out the system.

Thanks for all the info.

I have 4412D+ phones installed. I shoulded have to replace those but with my luck so far I more than likely will.

Just one more claification.

With the voice announce if the ext. says they want the call and they hand HFAI on does the call ring the ext or does the speaker phone pick it up?
