Hi all

Is it possible to have an input mask accept the following format:

Letter A or M, followed by 5 digits, followe by either a letter E, S or N.

OK, I know the 5 digits is easy enough - it's the choice of letters I'm stuck on.

Thanks in advance.

You need to escape a lot of letters, use \. For example:
\M

Microsoft said:
\ Causes the character that follows to be displayed as a literal character. Used to display any of the characters listed in this table as literal characters (for example, \A is displayed as just A).

Remou, I understand you can do it for a single character, as you quoted. However, I do not know if it's possible to accept one of a choice of characters (ie either A or M and either E or S or N); hence the question.

Sorry, misunderstood your post:
L Letter (A through Z, entry required).
? Letter (A through Z, entry optional).
For example:
>L00000

Remou, as I understand it, the example you've given will accept any letter. I need it to accept only a letter A or a letter M.

It may not be possible through input masks.

I think you are right. Would it be possible for you to use an input mask in conjunction with a validation rule?
